Art the Clown is back and he’s ready to terrify…er you (yes, I’m absolutely hilarious). Not to mention terrify a new set of young people. Terrifier (2016) was B-movie nuttiness, it’s not the best slasher you’ve ever seen by any means. But, hey, it’s fun. And having fun is a good thing as a horror fan. Plus, Terrifier (2016) has one of the most disturbing deaths ever—cementing Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) as a slasher villain who doesn’t fuck around. If you feared clowns before, that fear will be amplified by the end of this movie.

Back in 2020, a teaser trailer for a sequel was released, confirming that number 2 was on the way. Now that we’re for sure getting a Terrifier 2—what are the details?

Plot and release date

Terrifier 2 (2022) is coming out on October 7th in theaters. Though it will be premiering at Fright Fest on August 29th. As far as the plot goes, this is the premise according to Wikipedia:

After mutilating sole survivor Victoria Heyes (Scaffidi) and committing suicide upon police confrontation, Art (Thornton) is resurrected by a sinister being a year later and begins a hunt for two unsuspecting siblings in the Miles County area on Halloween night.

– Wikipedia

A duo of siblings trying to defeat or flee a villain isn’t uncommon in horror. We’ve seen time and time again (think of franchises like Friday the 13th, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street and so on). Crossing my fingers that Sienna Shaw and her brother Jonathan Shaw don’t become victims of Art.

Trailer

Get ready for a bloodbath because Art the Clown isn’t playing games. He’s out to slash, bash, and set people on fire. Director and writer, Damien Leone, has absolutely nailed down exactly what we want in a slasher in the past. Fingers crossed Sienna Shaw becomes a superb final girl (if she survives).
