Things We Saw Today: ‘The Batman’ Has a Powerful Opening at $134 Million
Finally, the time has come, and Matt Reeves’ The Batman has hit theaters with a strong opening weekend for the latest Bruce Wayne adventure. And, after how long we’ve been waiting to see Reeves’ film, it isn’t that surprising that the Robert Pattinson-led The Batman is getting fans into theaters!
Reports state that the movie’s first weekend brought in $134 million at the domestic box office, making it only the second film to cross the $100 million threshold for an opening weekend in the post-pandemic era—the other film being Spider-Man: No Way Home. So, fans of the World’s Greatest Detective took to cinemas across the United States to celebrate Matt Reeves’ take on Gotham.
And in some cases, you could see the new film with actual bats! No really, bats disrupted a screening of The Batman, and you cannot make these things up. But what this shows is that we haven’t tired of learning about Bruce Wayne yet. We still care enough about his story and the world of Gotham to keep coming back.
