Celine Dion to Sing the Theme Song For the New Muppets Movie? Bzuh?
it's time to play the music
This isn’t confirmed, but it’s not April Fool’s Day so I see no reason why someone would make it up. It’s so WTF that it might have circled around to absolutely brilliant.
The rumor goes that Celine Dion‘s “Something So Right” will be the major played-over-the-credits song for The Muppets… Again!, much like “Love Led Us Here” was for Muppet Treasure Island. That song was sung by Kermit and Miss Piggy during the movie, too, so I’d hazard a guess that we’ll be seeing a Muppet-sung version in the movie itself. Maybe a duet with Gonzo and Camilla? The mind boggles!
The power ballad-belting singer will also reportedly have a cameo in the movie. Are we in the ’90s? The Muppets… Again! is set in Europe, so can the Spice Girls show up, too?
To bring you up to speed, the Muppets… Again! cameo list so far, at least as I’m aware of it, is Christoph Waltz, Frank Langella, Tom Hiddleston, Peter Serafinowicz, Til Schweiger, Ray Liotta… and now Celine Dion. Ricky Gervais and Tina Fey are its (human) stars, and Bret McKenzie is writing the songs again.
Henson take the wheel.
