Touching Stop-Motion Film Answers Why The Sea Is Blue

How did the oceans get their color? The Sea Is Blue gives a magical answer that makes the ocean a little less scary. Vincent Peone wrote and directed The Sea is Blue, a very different track from his usual comedy work, when his sister was in a coma 10 years ago. Produced through Field Day, Peone wanted to make “a poignant metaphor for what he thought might be going on in his sister’s mind,” all to a score that was recorded underwater.
