“My Father!” The Trump Kids Are Basically Just Draco Malfoy-ing up the RNC
The Trump kids are a lot like the kids of fictional villains, except that we’re not really expecting some kind of redemption arc. I’m exclusively comparing them to when Draco Malfoy was terrible, and the Saperstein twins from Parks and Recreation.
At the second night of the Republican National Convention, Tiffany and Eric Trump took the floor to talk about everything their father stands for and supports. I think? I’m not entirely sure, because they said “my father” so much that if it were a drinking game, we’d all be dead.
Definitely a lot of repetition… pic.twitter.com/UJfrk0wgkx

Like … this is a pretty spot-on representation of their speeches.

And with the constant barrage of “daddy,” I basically just started to hear Tiffany Trump’s voice as Mona Lisa Saperstein from Parks and Recreation.
Eric Trump is more like Draco Malfoy before he had his redemption arc.
We’re living in a world where the first family of the White House is basically just filled with the kind of fictional characters that people would have to reimagine into redeemable human beings through fanfiction. But more importantly, why do they want to talk about their father that much?
Look, I know they spoke at the convention to support their father’s campaign, but even when I’m directly talking about my dad, I don’t think I say “my father” nearly as many times as they did in their speeches. Maybe it was how they were coached. When in doubt, just remind everyone that your father is our current fascist-in-chief. But the near-constant reminder of Trump being their father is just next-level absurd.
I’ll be honest; my way of keeping up with the RNC has been through Twitter, so most of what I saw was everyone asking why they kept saying “my father” over and over again.

Tiffany had to say “my father.” 😂Watch out Ivanka, Tiff is coming for you.

So, I can’t wait to see how many times “my father” is uttered throughout the next two nights of this, and hopefully, we won’t have repeat Draco Malfoy performances, but … it is truly frightening that this is being broadcast on national television and we’re supposed to look at them and think, “Wow, they love their father so much.”
