Things We Saw Today: This Hijab Throws Shade Without The Wearer Saying a Word
*mic drop*
Check out that hijab (or is it a chador? I can’t tell since she’s sitting). Saba Ahmed, president and founder of the Republican Muslim Coalition, came onto FOX News wearing that to talk about Donald Trump’s assertion that we should be closing down mosques, because they harbor terrorists. I kinda wish she hadn’t said anything – just sat there wearing that while giving Megyn Kelly and the Trump spokesperson on her right side-eye. (via The Slot)
- Apparently, Stan Lee wasn’t aware that Iceman is now gay, but now that he knows, he’s totally cool with it, “as long as they tell good stories, and they do.” (via Robot 6)
- Lifelike, robotic companion pets for seniors from Hasbro? Why not? You’re never too old to play with toys! (via Toyland)
Have you seen the Daredevil Season 2 trailer from Netflix yet? Well HERE IT IS! (via /Film)
- So….that awesome Barbie commercial featuring a fierce little boy? Yeah, that was apparently “a joke.” Or something. (via Death and Taxes)
- Apparently, Katniss doesn’t appear on the Mockingjay Part 2 posters in Israel, because girls are icky. It’s an image of a fiery crown instead. OK….? (via Vulture)
We’re really excited for Happy Birthday, Marsha!, a short film about Marsha P. Johnson, the black trans woman who spent her 25th birthday at the forefront of the Stonewall riots. Even better, this film was created by a trans woman of color and stars trans and gender non-conforming performers. (via Fusion)
