It’s February, which means Black History Month, which means that #29DaysOfBlackCosplay begins today — and already the tag has begun to fill with amazing costumes. Go forth and peruse the skills on display! (via @BlackGirlNerds)

- This enterprising Disneyland fan created an entire line of candles scented according to rides (and foods) at the theme park, from Belle’s Library to the Black Pearl. (via Boing Boing)
- Photographer Christian Sampson has put out a series of photos exploring mental illness; above, that’s his “Anxiety” photograph. “These were touchy subjects so I did rigorous research to make sure I depicted it accurately,” he told HuffPo.
- Harlem’s Ali Forney Center, an organization that provides housing for homeless LGBTQ+ youth, has begun a crowd-funding campaign to buy a local church that was once infamous for broadcasting homophobic sentiments. (via The Daily Dot)
- Mattel’s American Girl dolls will receive four live-action story adaptations via Amazon Studios this year. (via EW)
