Things We Saw Today: Constance Wu to Star in Lady-Led Dramatic Feature
Fresh off the Boat’s Constance Wu is a total star, and soon she’ll be showing off her skills in You and Me Both, the feature debut from director Jennifer Cho Suhr. IndieWire explains,
The film tells the story of two sisters — one a struggling addict, played by Wu — who take to the road to locate their birth mother. Variety reports that en route from Iowa to Alaska, the movie will explore “themes of grief, forgiveness and belonging,” while “showcasing the breadth and range of the Asian American experience with complicated and deeply human characters.”
You and Me Both will be produced by Carolyn Mao (American Viral) and Mollye Asher (Fort Tilden). So many rad ladies together on one project!
- Here’s your monthly reminder that TMS has a Goodreads club! This month’s book selection is Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie; the graphic novel option is The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage: The (Mostly) True Story of the First Computer by Sydney Padua. Happy reading!
- Director Arwen Curry is crowdfunding a documentary on Ursula K. LeGuin! You can support the project here.
- A certain significant The Walking Dead character was originally supposed to meet their demise in Season 3. You can find out who over at Comic Book Resources.
