President Obama’s inaugurations were very widely and excitedly attended by his supporters. Trump’s inauguration today? Not so much. Anyway, remember that time when Denzel Washington showed up super early to Obama’s inauguration in 2009? In this BBC interview, he talked about how he managed to score himself a front row seat back then.
- Twitter has decided to keep the Vine archives available after all, in the form of a static website that contains all the videos posted from 2013 to 2017. (via Engadget)
- Here’s an anonymous piece of art depicting Wonder Woman punching Trump in the face (as a clear homage to Captain America punching Hitler, way back when). Anyone know who drew this? I’d like to tip my hat to them.
- Just gonna quote the headline on this one, since it really says it all: “Republican Lawmakers in Five States Propose Bills to Criminalize Peaceful Protest.” Oh, and here’s the lede: “In North Dakota, Republicans introduced a bill that would allow motorists to run over and kill any protester obstructing a highway.” Ummmmmmmm… ffffffff. - Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is going to star in his own solo Black Adam movie.
- Lots of Americans are protesting Trump, today and tomorrow and probably many other days after that. But did you know there are also protests against Trump happening all around the world?
- Lin-Manuel Miranda has been tweeting some of his old drafts of Hamilton tunes today. He put them all into a Soundcloud playlist, for those of you who are super-fans and want to hear his early versions of the now-iconic songs.
