Things We Saw Today: Cover for Marvel’s America #2 Brings Us Life

As you can see above, Joe Quinones shared a peek at his cover for issue #2 of America, Marvel’s comic centered on the always-awesome America Chavez. It is gorgeous, and boy do we need America Chavez more than ever.

  • The United Nations is getting more invested into video games because according to this report, they’re effective at improving understanding. (via Polygon)
  • Rian Johnson has been very coy with revealing behind-the-scenes images of the development of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Here, he shares a (really quick) peek at the movie’s intro crawl. (via Making Star Wars)


The reviews for Resident Evil 7 have been slowly trickling in, with many critics saying that this one is the scariest yet, and that it’s a real return to the series’ roots. While fans may beg to differ with their own personal opinions, I bet we can all agree that this launch trailer is really freaking scary. Yeah? Maybe? (I’m a total chicken, I know.) (via Syfy)

  • A young 7th grader in Jacksonville, Florida, was so inspired by Octavia Spencer’s recent buyout of a showing of Hidden Figures that she set out and did just the same for over 100 local girls. She raised over $15,000 to do it. (via News 4 Jax)
  • Prior to this administration, the White House website hosted a page containing an apology for its part in discriminating against gay employees in the 1950s. That page has since vanished, replaced by a 404 page—a page that many are seeing pop up on other formerly LGBTQ-centric informational pages on WhiteHouse.gov. (via LawNewz)
