As the “virgins” part of the moniker implies, part of the practice involves taking a vow of celibacy.

• Battlestar Galactica alum Tahmoh Penikett, who’s popped up on Arrow and recently booked a recurring gig on Supernatural, has joined the cast of The CW’s new show Star-Crossed. Judging by the description it’s sort of a semi-dystopian Romeo and Juliet… with aliens. So a bit like Helo and Athena’s romance plotline, but CW-y. (blastr)
