Things We Saw Today: Gender-Bent Ice King From Adventure Time

• John Scalzi‘s award-winning novel Redshirts is getting turned into a TV show. While I admittedly haven’t read the book, Scalzi seems like a pretty awesome guy so I say yay. (via Slash Film)
• New Star Wars Rebels characters were just revealed in Lego form at Toy Fair to join leader Kanan Jarrus – Zeb Orrelios, Hera Syndulla, Ezra Bridger and droid Chopper. (via Io9)
• These “period panties” walk the line between funny and offensive and then fall over that line into the latter with the description including the creator’s girlfriend being “sick of repeatedly having to reject his advances while she was on her period.” Oy. Buy a calendar? Communicate?  (via the Daily Dot)
• Downton Abbey will have a bunch of new cast members in its fifth season, played by actors Richard E. Grant, Anna Chancellor, and Rade Sherbedgia. (via Deadline)

If you live in New York, you have to go to Bottleneck Gallery’s “Influences” show with art inspired by Jurassic Park, Predator, and G.I. Joe. If the rest of the art is as amazing as this Jurassic Park piece by Matt Ferguson (limited to only 40 prints!), it’ll be a great show to see. (via Blurppy)
