Things We Saw Today: The Avengers’ Alter-Egos
Things We Saw Today
The Japanese trailer for The Avengers showed us some fantastic new scenes and once again, Japan has one-uped us. This time with their Avengers poster (at least in my opinion). The U.S. poster was kinda “eh” and had some off-putting scale issues. This one may not be perfect but it does have a really cool concept, showing the team in their “day clothes” and then in their superhero personas. (via MTV) Now, what else did we see today (hint: really cool stuff)…
- HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT from WonderCon. IDW Publishing has officially announced the continuation of Womanthology as an ongoing comic! The theme of the first five-issue mini-series is “Space.” (via Comics Alliance)
Kate Leth has been doing some wonderful Twitter-first comics lately and this latest one explaining her feelings on sexual orientation is no different.
- Mattel is apparently releasing a Katniss Barbie in April. We’re imagining children (us) creating Hunger Games scenarios with her, Malibu Barbie, the Bratz, Batman action figures…
Here is a bust of Daenerys’ bust (ha ha) from Game of Thrones. Coming from Dark Horse and HBO later this year, they’re available for pre-order at Entertainment Earth for $124.99. (via MTV)
- Finally today, congratulations to Archaia Entertainment who are on a run getting their comics picked up for Hollywood films. Within the last few weeks we’ve heard news that their Lucid and Bolivar titles would be getting adapted onto the big screen. The latest is their title Days Missing which was created in conjunction with Roddenberry Productions (yes, as in Gene Roddenberry of Star Trek fame). It’s a cool story I had the pleasure of reviewing a while back that revolves around a powerful being who can “fold” time in order to prevent or shape big events in Earth’s past. (via Deadline)
