Things We Saw Today: Stephen Merchant Is Dirrty. Real Dirrty.
Chaps and booty shorts ahead. You've been warned.
Listen, we all saw this coming. When Lip Sync Battle was announced, it was obvious to all of us that Stephen Merchant was going to become a regular fixture. Not only that, but we all knew that he was going to be a hilarious fixture. Like those crazy things on the walls at Chili’s. Woo! An alligator with sunglasses. Ha. Check out the other battle from the same episode with Malin Åkerman singing Pour Some Sugar On Me. (via The Daily Dot)
- The Hollywood Reporter had a great interview with Rebel Wilson during the Pitch Perfect 2 premiere, where they talked about Elizabeth Banks. She said, “Sometimes I thought she was Effie from The Hunger Games, she’s very strict.” She also talked about what kinds of projects she’d like to do next. She explained, “I was a fan of Glee. I’d love to do something where I play a female rapper. But movie wise I’d love to do a Bette Midler biopic and have all her songs in it. She is like legit, way cool and she’s a fan of Pitch Perfect.” Take a look at the full interview on The Hollywood Reporter.
- The Game of Thrones television show has gone full divergent like Shailene Woodley in a post-apocalyptic future. Many fans have already voiced their displeasure with this fact, but none quite as… vehemently than GRRM’s own editor, Jane Johnson. To wit:
WHAT? #GameOfThrones Not loving these huge divergences. Read the books if you want to know the story the way the author intended it.

- Victoria McNally, beloved former TMS-er and all around fantastic person, wrote a great piece on MTV.com about why women are being left out of superhero merch, and the alternatives that’ve popped up to address this glaring lack of diversity.
- Did you see this coming? Fox, in addition to finalizing the order for the Lucifer television show, has also ordered a new show based on the sci-fi novel and movie Minority Report. Apparently it’s “a loose continuation of Stephen Spielberg’s loose adaptation of a Philip K. Dick story.” Hmm. (via Comic Book Resources)
Also, you are now officially reminded tomorrow is Mother’s Day. Now you’ve got no excuse. Shouts to those awesome moms out there.
