Things We Saw Today: The Military’s Planned “Hoverbikes” Look Awfully Familiar

In fairness, the Hover Bike really only looks like an incredibly dangerous and combustible speeder bike from Star Wars from the side, and from the top, it looks a lot more like a homemade contraption that a child would try to jump out of a tree with to slow their fall. But the military really is working on them for practical use. (via Gizmodo)

• Marvel has announced a new Doctor Strange comic, surprising no one what with his upcoming MCU introduction. (via EW)
• There’s a report that Selma‘s Ava Duvernay will direct Marvel’s Black Panther, but it’s still unconfirmed. (via Pajiba)

The Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver might not be as absurd as it seems. Maybe. (via Laughing Squid)

• The Supreme Court of the United States ruled on a Marvel patent case—complete with Spider-Man references in their official decision. (via LA Times)
• And it seems that Hugh Jackman may be in X-Men: Apocalypse after all. (via Blastr)
