Things We Saw Today: The Unicorns, A Geek Girl Photo Book You Should Definitely Check Out
Have you ever been to any kind of geek or geek-adjacent event and felt kind of… alone? Isolated? Kind of like you’re the last unicorn or something? Well, don’t worry, because you are not alone, and this Kickstarter for a rad photo book aims to prove just that. It features photos, bios, and interviews with some of geekdom’s fiercest female geeks. Take a look!
- If you missed the Muppets panel at Comic-Con, you should definitely check the recaps. By all accounts, it was easily one of the most hilarious panels all weekend. All the Muppets were in attendance, and they cut some pretty great jokes. (via Comic Book Resources)
- This might’ve come in useful for all you Whovians on road trips back home from SDCC, but this Doctor Who Trivial Pursuit travel edition seems like the perfect cure for that long, quiet ride home (the long way ’round). Or, you know, when you get stuck in your Tardis or something.
So, I just moved. And I gotta say, I am sorely tempted to grab a set of these floating bookshelves featuring a caped superhero carrying some books. Or my plants. Oh, or my liquor! That’s the ticket. Grab yourself some of these neat bookshelves over at Designboom. (via Colossal)
- Jade Raymond, former managing director of Ubisoft Toronto (Assassin’s Creed), has signed on with EA under her own studio, and she’s working everyone’s dream project: a new Star Wars game. Super excited to see what she can do with her own studio! (via Arcade Sushi)
- Last but not least, here’s a video of Tom Cruise “scared shitless” while he hangs onto the side of a plane. Presented without comment. Okay, maybe one: it’s too bad that plane wasn’t a DC-8 otherwise this’d make for a great Scientology commercial. (via Polygon)
That’s some neat stuff, right there. How’re you recovering from your post-SDCC hangovers? Good, we hope? What’d you see today besides the inside of your eyelids as you got some much-needed sleep?
