Things We Saw Today: Sonic the Hedgehog Theme on Keytar!
Talk about a Sonic jam.
YouTuber Rush Coil (not RUST COHLE!) recently posted a video of him recreating the theme from the first stage of Sonic the Hedgehog. Rock on, dude. (via Polygon)
- On another game-related note, Nintendo has let Yacht Club Games make a Shovel Knight amiibo. Are you gonna get it? (via Wired)
- Did you hear that all those games buried in Mexico (yes, including the failed E.T. game) brought in a whopping $100,00 at an auction? (via io9)
This Futurama cosplay is pretty rad, right? I’ve seen people in costume as Leela before, but I think this might be the best one yet. (via Fashionably Geek)
- And now for something that could be rad: William Shatner writing a book about late old friend and coworker Leonard Nimoy. (via Nerdist)
- Something that could be expensive? Buying Michael Jordan’s costume from Space Jam at an auction. Because, yes, they are auctioning off Michael Jordan’s costume from Space Jam instead of putting it in a museum for us all to marvel at. (via THR)
So this last thing is a baby announcement with all sorts of geek references. I’m including it for the geek references and appearances of dogs. I’m not sure what to think of the final title card, which reads, “BABY. Shit gets real. January 2016.” (via Huffington Post)
Thanks for another cool weekend, TMS peeps. Have a great week and feel free to share anything and everything you saw this Sunday below!
