- The lawsuit over whether or not Neil Gaiman was owed compensation for major contributions to the canon of Spawn was settled, and now the sum that Todd McFarlane owes him has been ordered by the judge: $382,000, which will come from the escrow account set up when the lawsuit began. Gaiman has said that any money left after he covers legal expenses (even Gaiman isn’t sure how much will actually be left over) will go to charity (I’m guessing the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund).
