Call Me By Your Name, adapted from the 2007 novel by Andre Aciman that won a Lambda Literary award, has been hotly anticipated since it bowed at Sundance to rave reviews. Now the first sun-drenched trailer has arrived.
Directed by acclaimed Italian director Luca Guadagnino and written by James Ivory (of the Merchant & Ivories), the movie’s first trailer sent the Internet a-flutter this afternoon, with Call Me By Your Name trending on Twitter.
Here’s the official synopsis: “Summer of 1983, Northern Italy. An American-Italian is enamored by an American student who comes to study and live with his family. Together they share an unforgettable summer full of music, food, and romance that will forever change them.” The trailer, which features a new song by Sufjan Stevens, “Mystery of Love,” looks considerably more drama-filled coming-of-age, problematic, and heartbreaking than that fluffy description. - America’s healthcare situation is so bad that people who cannot afford a trip to the doctor or the high price of medicine are buying fish antibiotics via Amazon. They do not have fish. I was feeling pretty good after Mary Berry but now I’m filled with rage and horror at the world again. (via BoingBoing)
- Diana, SHIELD!!! Wonder Woman has vaulted past Deadpool’s box office, now closing in on a cool $800 million. Tell me again about how people don’t want to see movies starring female superheroes. (via Comicbookmovie)
So what’d you see today, Themyscirans?
