Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, an executive producer for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, recently unveiled our first look at the new version of Salem. The talking cat provided much of the comic relief on the 1996-2003 Sabrina the Teenage Witch TV show, as a warlock who’d been transformed into a cat for 100 years after trying to take over the world.
In The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic series, Salem has a less megalomaniacal origin. After he impregnates Abigail Williams (like, The Crucible Abigail Williams) right before the Salem Witch trials and then refuses to help her, she, the Devil, and the other witches transform him into a cat. (Then again, Chilling Adventures Salem also makes a reference to “attempt[ing] to enact the Book of Revelation,” so maybe he also got up to some world-conquering antics.)
Whatever his origin in the new show, look! It’s a cute cat!

- LOLOLOL He cares about due process now?
Peoples lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation. Some are true and some are false. Some are old and some are new. There is no recovery for someone falsely accused – life and career are gone. Is there no such thing any longer as Due Process?
