  • Evelyn Lauder, who had been a fierce advocate for breast cancer research and awareness after surviving the disease herself, passed away after battling non-genetic ovarian cancer. She was married to Leonard Lauder, son of Estée, but had built a name for herself as the founder of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the creator of the Pink Ribbon Campaign. Lauder was 75 and is survived by her husband, her sons, and five grandchildren. (via The New York Times
