Things We Saw Today: We Know When Jessica Jones Is Coming Back, and We’ve Got a New Trailer!
We’ve got a new trailer for Season Two of Jessica Jones, and a release date! The new season will land on Netflix on March 8, 2018, and it looks like it will deal just as heavily with trauma and recovery as the first did. In an earlier interview with Entertainment Weekly, star Krysten Ritter said, “What we’ve done again is kept the story very personal. If Season One was in her head and in her mind, then Season Two will be more in her heart. This season is more emotional.”
The trailer certainly seems to reinforce that. We don’t see any shots of Kilgrave, though we know that he returns (in some fashion), but the few lines of dialogue suggest that Jessica still doesn’t want to deal with her pain. “Knowing what was done to you might help you,” Trish urges.
Jessica responds in a teary, frazzled voice: “What if facing it makes me worse?”
Goddamnit, Jessica Jones. This is gonna be another gut-punch of a season, isn’t it?
- Kelly Marie Tran, light of my days, is taking over Disney Studios Instagram for the Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiere tonight, and she’s already gotten a manicure in a porg costume and had to stop her morning run because it was too darn exhausting.
- The Phantom Tollbooth is getting a movie adaptation, with Game of Thrones and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia director Matt Shakman taking the helm. Shakman has directed dozens of TV episodes, but this will be his first feature-length film. (via /Film)
- This pretty hilarious image of Storm holding an umbrella has been making the rounds. Some users have pointed out that it could just be from a slow moment on set, and that Storm doesn’t simply go around undoing storms because she’s inconvenienced, but … come on.
Here is Storm (in next year’s X-Men) holding an umbrella in the rain.

- In anticipation of the oh-so-soon premiere of The Last Jedi, Lucasfilm and Disney have put out a featurette on the real-world locations in the film. Astronaut Jessica Meir talked about this a bit in her interview with TMS, but there are so many amazing places on our own planet that look breathtakingly otherworldly. Space opera is cool, folks, but so is our wonderfully diverse, wonderfully weird Earth.
- Poor John Boyega almost didn’t make it to the Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiere tonight because of snow! But in very Finn fashion, he persevered against the odds. (via SYFY Wire)
I made it ! Without luggage but wooooooooohoooo! As if weather can stop a Nigerian kmt

- Playstation VR just released the trailer for their Rick and Morty virtual reality game, which will debut in 2018. In Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality, players experience life as a Morty clone. (via Nerdist)
That’s all I got! What’d you see today, readers?
