Things We Saw Today: Star vs. the Forces of Evil Delivers Disney’s First Animated Same-Sex Kisses
In the Star vs. the Forces of Evil episode “Just Friends,” we see the first animated same-sex kisses in a Disney property, thanks to Disney XD. Check out the clip above! No, it’s not main characters, but there are several same-sex couples at the boy band concert Star and Marco (and his girlfriend) are attending kissing in the crowd. Wow. It’s almost as if it’s no big deal. Thanks, Disney. Feel free to take that spirit to the rest of your projects. (via Teen Vogue)
- Sadly, the CBS drama, Doubt, in which Laverne Cox was the first trans actress to play a recurring trans character on a broadcast series has been cancelled after only two episodes. When will TV learn that Katherine Heigl is the kiss of death? (via Jezebel)
- John Oliver has launched a campaign to ban Donald Trump from women’s bathrooms. (via Deadline Hollywood)
- Chance the Rapper bought all the tickets to Jordan Peele’s Get Out at a theater to allow people to attend for free yesterday, and if the tweets in the thread are anything to go by, other rappers are getting into the act! Keep your eyes on your favorite rappers’ Twitter feeds!
