Thor‘s Jaimie Alexander Cast In NBC Drama About Woman With Amnesia
Seems like this whole amnesia thing is going to be a trend for Alexander, huh?
The Lady Sif will have to put aside her Asgardian armor the next time she appears on network TV (after her next guest spot in Agents of SHIELD, of course), because she’s been has been tapped for NBC’s latest drama, Blindspot. EW explains:
[Alexander] will play Jane Doe, a mysterious woman who finds herself at the center of an investigation after climbing out of a duffel bag in the middle of Times Square with her memory wiped and no clue as to what the extensive tattoos on her body mean. Her discovery sets off a vast and complex mystery that immediately grabs the attention of the FBI, who begin to follow the road map on her body to reveal a larger conspiracy of crime while bringing her closer to discovering the truth about her identity.
So, in typical NBC drama fashion, it’s a very confusing premise. Well, I guess not more confusing than the short-lived Jason Isaacs Jekyl and Hyde retelling Do No Harm, or the American Monarchy AU Kings—and ugh, don’t even get me started on The Cape. But, hey, for every failed high concept NBC show, there’s something like Hannibal that flies under the network’s radar and does amazing things.
Let’s hope Blindspot is the latter—especially because Arrow and The Flash’s Greg Berlanti is set to executive produce along with Sarah Schechter and Martin Gero, who will write the show. Fingers crossed for good things, friends!
