Tiffany Haddish Parodies Black Panther and Star Wars: The Last Jedi at the MTV Movie Awards

Tiffany Haddish in MTV movie awards Black Panther parody

Recommended Videos

The MTV Movie and TV Awards were last night (well, they aired last night, anyway), and Black Panther and Stranger Things walked away with several awards each, but that wasn’t the only way some of our favorite pieces of fiction got involved. Host Tiffany Haddish jumped right into the scenes of some of the latest and greatest movies for some parody antics, including Black Panther itself and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

In the Black Panther video (above), Haddish takes M’Baku’s place to challenge T’Challa for the Wakandan throne, with the help of Girls Trip costars Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith. In the Last Jedi clip, she gets in the middle of Kylo Ren and Rey’s ForceTime chats, bringing back some Shirtless Kylo Ren and causing some jealousy that’s sure to get the Reylo crowd riled up. (Or, if you’re extremely not here for that nonsense, it might just make you smile to see someone come between them, even in a comedy sketch.)

They also complete their destinies with a battle over Haddish’s … unique lightsaber. If I understand Star Wars correctly, I think she now has to build her own.

As for the awards themselves, Chadwick Boseman took one home for his performance in Black Panther (and so did Michael B. Jordan for Best Villain), Millie Bobby Brown won best TV performance for Stranger Things (with Noah Schnapp also snagging one for Most Frightened Performance as Will Byers), Gal Gadot and Wonder Woman won for Best Fight, and the kids from It took home Best On-Screen Team. Black Panther and Stranger Things also won best movie and show respectively, and you can take a look at the full list of winners and nominees here.
