"I saw this on an episode of a TV show. I didn't see how it ended, but I'm sure it worked out great." -Steven

If you watched the recent episodes of Steven Universe, “Super Watermelon Island,” “Gem Drill,” and “Same Old World,” you know that things are already getting intense in the In Too Deep storyline leading up to the “Summer of Steven!” Not only has Steven (with the help of the Gems and his Watermelon Army) saved Lapis Lazulie and the Cluster (yes, you read right. Saved the Cluster), he’s also developed new, stronger powers that show how far he’s come as a Crystal Gem! With these endings and resolutions come new beginnings, one of which you can see in this exclusive Steven Universe clip provided by Cartoon Network!

That’s right! Peridot and Lapis are gonna be roomies! Aaaaaand … it might not go so well. But if Steven can convince gem shards not to form an Earth-destroying Cluster, surely he can convince two gems to live together peacefully … right? This clip is from the 4th episode in the In Too Deep story arc called “Barn Mates” in which, after trying to find Lapis a home elsewhere, Steven brings her back to the barn so that she can try living with Peridot.

In related news, I would totally watch an Odd Couple-esque spin-off of Steven Universe focused entirely on Peridot and Lapis’ shenanigans.

Steven Universe: In Too Deep continues with “Barn Mates” on Thursday, May 26 at 7 p.m. (ET/PT) on Cartoon Network!
