Today in Sexual Misconduct: Louis C.K., Steven Seagal, Ed Westwick (Again), and More

Today in Sexual Misconduct: Because we live in a world where this is an everyday occurrence.

Louis C.K.

Earlier today, we heard the news that the New York premiere of Louis C.K.’s upcoming film, I Love You, Daddy, had been abruptly cancelled because of an impending New York Times story. Well, that New York Times story came out, and it isn’t pretty. 5 women have come forward to the newspaper alleging incidents during which C.K. masturbated in front of them. Like, that’s his whole thing. And he’s apparently apologized to some of them, acknowledging how screwed up he is, but has just. Kept. Doing it.

Click into this awesome Twitter thread from Melissa McEwan of Shakesville.com where she lays out exactly why masturbating in front of someone is a big deal (because there are people who actually don’t understand that), and why C.K. doesn’t deserve the redemption arc he’s likely going to be aiming for right now:

Steven Seagal

Portia de Rossi, Julianna Margulies, Inside Edition’s Lisa Guerrero, and Jenny McCarthy all came out within the past couple of days with allegations of sexual harassment at the hands of Steven Seagal. Jezebel and US Weekly have the coverage.

General consensus:

And also:

Adam Venit, WME Agent

The ever-wonderful Terry Crews bravely shared his story of sexual assault at the hands of a male Hollywood executive a couple of weeks ago. Today, we’ve learned from Entertainment Weekly that Crews has since filed a police report against the alleged perpetrator, who the Rickey Smiley Morning Show reports is William Morris Endeavor agent Adam Venit. Venit has since been placed on leave while he’s being investigated.

It truly is a sad state of affairs:

Ed Westwick (Again!)

A couple of days ago, we learned that Kristina Cohen accused Gossip Girl‘s Ed Westwick of raping her. Today, we learned that she’s not alone. A woman named Aurélie Wynn has come forward to allege that Westwick assaulted her back in 2014 in a house he was renting. The Huffington Post has that story.

We wish we could say “that’s it.” But we know there’s probably more we don’t even know about, and more that will come out in the days to come. So I’ll simply say, that’s all for now.
