Tony Stark Clearly Remembers Pepper Potts’ Blue Dress

**Avengers: Endgame spoilers ahead.**

So, by now, we’ve had the chance to see Pepper Potts make her debut as Rescue in Avengers: Endgame. The suit that Tony Stark created for her for their anniversary, Rescue, comes to his aid in the final battle against Thanos. Well, now we’re beginning to realize that the blue of Rescue’s suit may not be a random choice from Tony.

Get out your tissues!

If you remember, Tony Stark “bought” Pepper the dress for her birthday. I say “bought” because Pepper bought the dress for herself when Tony forgot her birthday again and then wore it to the event the two had to attend. For many, it is the night they think Tony Stark realized that he was in love with Pepper Potts.

What’s significant about the color isn’t just that it’s the same blue, but that it’s blue at all. Tony’s suits have always been red, and the only reason Rhodey’s War Machine isn’t is that it was his test suit from when he first started to try out the Iron Man technology.

So why the blue? It could be a random decision, but the fact that Pepper’s blue dress is almost the same shade as Rescue’s suit seems to point in a more poignant decision. Is it Tony’s way of making up for all those years of forgetting? Telling Pepper that he never was going to forget something in their life again?

Who knows? We never will, but I sure did just make myself cry thinking about it all!
