Science fiction and fantasy site Tor.com is celebrating their five years of bringing fantasy books — and some pretty great blog posts as well — to the Internet by making all of their original fiction downloadable for free. Um, awesome?

The collection boasts 151 stories — nearly 4000 pages — from a wide variety of authors, and you can download it as a PDF or for a Kindle. You need to make an account to do so, but that takes about 30 seconds, so it shouldn’t be much of hurdle. Be warned that the file is huge though — my computer has been chugging away it for half an hour so far, but the download page includes a convenient link to comment threads about manageable file compression. Considering it’s chock full of stories from authors like John Scalzi, Garth Nix, Rachel Swirsky, and Charles Stross, we really recommend making the bandwidth for it.

And then be excited: Tor was planning on taking down the collection today, but interest has been so strong, they’re leaving it up for another week so everyone who wants it can get their grubby mitts on it. Still, I would highly recommend heading over to this page sooner rather than later and securing a good month or so of reading.  You know, provided you have nothing else to do, good light, and a strong will. Otherwise, it might be a little bit longer).
