Two Tortoises Recreate Eyes Wide Shut on Fashion Week Runway

Recommended Videos

In a stunning recreation of a scene right out of Eyes Wide Shut, two tortoises started getting it on while models stood all around them, quietly trying to not break character. This happened during Mathieu Mirano’s fall 2016 showcase, which featured models all standing on a sandy desert set, complete with two live tortoises.

The male tortoise began chasing the female tortoise around the set, weaving between the models who had to stand and watch this tortoise Pepé Le Pew try to get his proverbial rocks off. One model, captured on Instagram user ruthiedarling’s video (seen above), couldn’t contain herself as the female tortoise passed by right in front of her. According to Page Six, eventually the tortoise “began mating with one of the female tortoises among the luxurious evening gowns.”

I don’t think that this instance of tortoise-ly love necessarily ruined the show or anything. In fact, you can be damn sure people will be talking about this one for a long time.
