Kit Harington, Cate Blanchett Join The Cast Of How To Train Your Dragon 2

Oh, you thought because we got a teaser trailer they were actually done with the movie? How silly of you! The DreamWorks Animation panel at San Diego C0mic-Con revealed new casting notes on the How to Train Your Dragon sequel. 

Kit Harington, Cate Blanchett, and Djimon Hounsou are the latest to join the cast of How to Train Your Dragon 2.

“The revelation came at the end of the DreamWorks Animation panel at the annual gathering of geekdom in San Diego, with writer-director Dean DeBlois describing some of the plot details from the upcoming family adventure, due in theaters next June,” explains Entertainment Weekly. “After the vikings and the dragons settled their war in the 2010 movie, the previously hostile tribes of humans and flying beasts have teamed up to explore the world together.”

All is well and good until Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and his friends go exploring and find a land where humans have enslaved dragons to conquer other lands.

Says EW, “Harington plays the lead dragon-trapper, Eret, and Hounsou is Drago Bludvist the maniacal leader building the force. Blanchett co-stars as Valka, who prefers scaly company to humans, and works as a reclusive vigilante who rescues the dragons from their traps and secrets them away to a sanctuary in the arctic.”
