We Are Just Soooo Excited for This Transformers: The Last Knight Trailer Announcement

Recommended Videos

Who’s ready for some new Transformers? Anyone? Sorry, it’s a slow news day. But just like Marky Mark Mark Wahlberg in The Happening, I’m gonna make my way downtown through this post with as little emoting as possible. Ready?

Okay, so Paramount Pictures dropped a new teaser for the upcoming Transformers: The Last Knight with the announcement that a full one is coming Wednesday. We got twenty seconds of footage (more like 7 if you factor in all the black screen shots) to get us ready for the big event. I don’t know about you, but I think it’s weird that we’re now treating trailers like major movie releases. When did advertising promos for movies become a thing? Is it because nowadays you get almost the entire film in a teaser? Anyway …

I haven’t been paying much attention to this movie so I had no idea what this was about when I first saw the announcement. But a quick search tells me that once again it’s humans versus machines and Optimus Prime is nowhere to be found. (Side note: I’m starting to think he really doesn’t like being a Transformer.)

Apparently, the key to fixing the future somehow lies within the past. Cade (Didn’t realize Wahlberg’s character had a name. I just referred to him as Captain No Emote), Anthony Hopkins, an Oxford professor played by Laura Haddock and Bumblebee have to save the world, no surprises there. No explanation for the King Arthur reference I assume is in the title but perhaps it’ll be fleshed out in the flashbacks? Or not at all because maybe don’t expect much from this movie?

Transformers: The Last Knight heads to theaters on June 23. If you can’t wait that long for the whole shebang, just watch the full trailer next Wednesday. Happy Friday!
