Trent Reznor to Score, Play Onscreen Role in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
Of Course!
For some of us, seeing Trent Reznor win an Oscar (and several other fancy awards) with Atticus Ross for scoring The Social Network while wearing a short haircut and a suit is something we never thought we’d see. In fact, it’s weird. And while we are super psyched to see the former Nine Inch Nails frontman doing so well (really!), it’s just odd to type sentences like the following: Oscar-winning composer Trent Reznor will provide the score and act in the movie version of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Wow. There is nothing about that sentence that isn’t the best.
The adaptation of the literary mashup is set to be directed and produced by Timur Bekmambetov and Tim Burton, respectively, and features Benjamin Walker as the vampire-slaying 16th President of the United States. Mary Elizabeth Winstead has been cast as Mary Todd, and Dominic Cooper as Henry Sturgess, the vampire who makes a slayer out of Abraham Lincoln. According to Badass News, Reznor will be playing a vampire who kills Lincoln’s mom. Considering Reznor’s past work, this seems fitting. Actually, it seems tame. But if that means more people will get to see Reznor being awesome, then that’s good for everyone.
