Tupac Shakur Performs as Hologram With Snoop Dogg at Coachella 2012 [Video]
Though Tupac Shakur died way back in 1996, we live in 2012, an age of technological wonders, which is why those in attendance at Coachella 2012 were lucky enough to see him perform as a hologram, alongside Snoop Dogg, revisiting “2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted.”
Though both the hologram and “appearance” of Tupac is certainly awesome, one can’t help but wonder and be a little afraid of the direction the music industry could be taking with this. Sure, it’d be great to “see” Hendrix, Elvis, Kurt Cobain, Freddy Mercury — whoever, really — after they’re gone, it’d not only cheapen the experience, but we’re getting into weird territory where we should probably seriously consider if those artists actually would’ve wanted to be resurrected to perform for all eternity.
Whatever your thoughts, it was still pretty cool, whether or not it was flawlessly executed, and whether or not you were comfortable with Tupac screaming “Coachella” at the beginning of the performance.
