After finally attaching shrewd negotiator David Lynch to the project, Showtime seems determined to do its new season of Twin Peaks right: according to new details revealed at this weekend’s Crypticon, the season will be nearly twice as long as originally projected, will feature a score from original composer and perpetual bad-ass Angelo Badalamenti, and will be filmed on the Washington State set.

According to stars Sherilyn Fenn and Sheryl Lee, the Double R diner will be back to serving damn fine coffee and pie again:

This must be where pies go when they die.

Shooting will take place in North Bend and Snoqualmie, Washington, and will reportedly begin in September.

What do you think, gang? Personally, I couldn’t be more excited that Showtime is sparing no expense in bringing back iconic elements of the original series–if you’re going to return to a cult TV show, this is the way to do it.

18 episodes. I couldn’t be more hype.
