Vampire Orgies? We Can’t Wait for What We Do in the Shadows!

For fans of What We Do in the Shadows, the new FX television show seems to be a thing of dreams. It’s filled with fun vampires, the same kind of wit we came to expect from the film, and a bit of hope that we can see Taika Waititi return as Viago.

Focused on American vampires, the television version of What We Do in the Shadows is going to brings us laughs, new favorites, and … vampire orgies?

In an interview with Slashfilm, showrunner Paul Simms talks about the new series and what it meant to bring it to New York. Before, we watched as Viago, Vladislav, and Deacon took on their home of New Zealand, but now? They’re taking on the Big Apple!

Simms talked about how setting the show in New York made it so the vampires could be a bit more glitzy, and stated that they would be “more like the ones you’d see in a movie like Blade” rather than the vampires we came to know in New Zealand. So, does that mean there is no hope of seeing our favorites? Not exactly.

While Simms wouldn’t explicitly confirm nor deny the return of Viago, Vladislav, and Deacon (Stu is who we’re really interested in anyway), he did mention that, by the end of the seasons, fans of the film will leave satisfied.

“I’d say if you’re a fan of the movie, by the end of season one of this show, you’ll be very satisfied that the links between the universe of the movie and the universe of the show are the same thing. I guess the way you’d say it these days is there might a bit of a crossover.”

If you’re someone like me, What We Do In The Shadows means the world to you. Whenever I’m feeling down, I watch it and laugh and cry and wish I could also get along with the werewolves.

What We Do in the Shadows premieres on FX on March 27. Get ready for a whole new cast of characters, more vampires, and maybe even a surprise Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement if we’re lucky!
