Violett Beane Cast in The CW’s The Flash as Jesse Quick
We can now add a female speedster to The CW’s The Flash! Violett Beane has been cast to join The Flash‘s second season as the DCU’s most important female member of the extended “Flash Family!”
Newcomer Beane has been cast in the role of Jesse Chambers, aka Jesse Quick, who in the Flash Golden Age comics is the daughter of superheroes Liberty Belle and Johnny Quick. In the comics, Jesse gets her speedy powers when her father teaches her the formula that allows him to tap into the Speed Force. (Uh-huh) Her origin in the TV version might be a bit more grounded than that, but not by a lot. Her official description according to The CW is that she’s “a brilliant but quirky college student who gets caught up in the battle between The Flash and Zoom.” Perhaps this is how she’ll get her powers and get sucked into the Flash family?
Whatever the case may be, it’s nice to see another female face on The Flash. Especially when it belongs to a superhero! What do you think of this casting news, and what do you hope to see with this character? Tell us below!
