Wachowski Sisters Auctioning Nearly 200 Film Props & Memorabilia for Trans Youth
Lana and Lilly Wachowski decided that their spring cleaning is going to be our spring boon, auctioning off over 200 items connected to their most iconic films. Lilly tweeted online: “hi youse! so me and Lana have been doing some spring cleaning at our Raiders of the Lost Ark warehouse and have happily decided to pass on some of the best treasures we’ve been collecting over the years!! no ark of the covenants but some pretty major and magical artifacts!”
She admits that it was hard to part with a lot of these things, but there is just so much stuff—a feeling I can relate to, even if it is just my Funko pops. And there’s a lot of cool stuff, including multiple awards that the sisters have accumulated over the years. A part of me really wants pretty much all of the Jupiter Ascending stuff, but I have found no way to validate paying $300.00 for the clapperboard—yet. We still have time.
All profits from this auction will go to the Protect & Defend Trans Youth Fund, that was set up by singer Ariana Grande. There is a breakdown of where all the money is going to, giving a lot of good transparency to ensure that it is helping many of the most vulnerable among us.
