I’m just gonna let you have the big one right here—Will Smith will be playing Deadshot.

I know, right??

After a few months of speculation, The Hollywood Reporter gives the official news from Warner Bros. Will Smith, Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney, and Cara Delevingne will all be starring in Suicide Squad.

Smith will play Deadshot, best known as a Batman villain, while Hardy the group’s leader, Rick Flagg. Leto will take on the Joker while Robbie will play Harley Quinn, his on-and-off girlfriend. Courtney will be Boomerang while Delevingne will play Enchantress.

The Squad has already been brought to life on the small-screen for The CW’s Arrow. But that doesn’t mean the TV spinoff, which actor David Ramsey mentioned might happen, won’t happen. Warner aren’t exactly trying to merge their TV and movie universes, nor are they trying to avoid doubling up.

I’m not thrilled with Hardy taking on another DC Comics role after his time as Bane, but that’s never stopped casting before. I’m also not seeing Leto as the Joker, but considering our last adaptation of the character, just about any name would have given me pause. I will reserve judgement on Harley’s casting until we know more of the direction this film will be taking. Of course, we should note Warner cast a POC for Deadshot, which is very cool to see. Fingers crossed for a badass Amanda Waller now, true to her comic book origins.

David Ayer is writing and directing this one. THR writes, “Charles Roven and Richard Suckle are producing. Exec producing are Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder, who are already shepherding many of the DC movies, as well as Colin Wilson and DC’s COO Geoff Johns.”

What do you think, kids?

[UPDATE] Variety is saying Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Oprah Winfrey are being considered for Waller.
