We Have a Trailer for The Last Of Us‘s Ellie-Centered Story DLC

Recommended Videos

The Last of Us has been fuel for a number of posts on this site beyond our basic review of it. From developer Naughty Dog’s insistence that focus testing include women and that their co-protagonist not be relegated to the back of the box simply because she was female to a two part discussion between me and Becky Chambers about the recent trend of male parental main characters with younger female child/helper secondary characters in this year’s video games. Naughty Dog just released this trailer for the game’s first story DLC, a bit of a prequel chapter featuring Ellie and her friend Riley in the days before she met Joel. That makes it an expansion of a very serious and very well recognized video game’s universe and story that appears to revolve entirely around the lives of two teenage girls. And that’s pretty cool.

Instead she stumbled into a great job: founding and running this very website (she's Editor at Large now, very fancy). She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
