Whatever’s In The Extended The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, It’s Rated R
They added in "some violence."
The extended edition of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is meant for adult eyes only — and not just because it moves too slowly for any kid to remain interested. The extended scenes will include “some violence,” enough to earn that edition an R-rating, and maybe even make it more exciting to watch. (Can you tell that this disappointed fan of the original books fell asleep in the movie theatre for this one?)
The other Lord of the Rings extended editions haven’t passed the PG-13 mark, so there must be something pretty bloody in the deleted scenes from the third Hobbit film. You’ll have to keep your eyes peeled for the new three-hour run time, given that the extended edition promises an extra half-hour of footage.
