When Does Ozark Season 4 Part 2 release on Netflix?
Ozark fans rejoice! Ruth Langmore is coming for all of our necks this spring.
When we last left the Byrdes and Ruth, things were … looking pretty bleak. The Byrdes and Omar were trying to work out a deal with the feds, while Omar’s heir Javi was taking matters into his own hands, by shooting whoever disagreed with him or posed a bit of a threat. Like, you know, the sheriff. Jonah was still being a rebellious teen and trying to work with Ruth and Darlene as their launderer, and Charlotte was having to break the bad news to Helen’s daughter that Helen was dead and could she maybe call off the private eye that was sticking his nose into their business?
Ultimately, things come to a head when Javi – sick and tired of Darlene and Wyatt continuing their own heroin business after repeated warnings from the cartel – decides to fix his problem by murdering them both. Ruth discovers the bodies (and the baby), and with her last remaining blood relative gone, fully snaps. So now Ruth is on the warpath, the Byrdes are trying to get the hell out of the Ozarks and the flashforward car crash from the first episode is looming over it all.
When does it release on Netflix?
Netflix has confirmed that Part 2 of season four of Ozark will release on April 29, 2022. Roughly 3 months after they released Part 1. According to TVLine, Showrunner Chris Mundy has also confirmed that things “pick up right away. “We would be cheating everybody if we jumped past the emotional place we were in [at the end of Episode 7].”
The remaining episodes will also finally reveal what exactly leads to the car crash and its potentially deadly results. While a flashforward, the ambiguity around the timing of the car crash was definitely intentional. “There’s a feeling on our show all the time where anything can happen at any time, and I like that unease,” Mundy tells TVLine. “We felt like people [watching the Season 4 premiere] might be confused for a split second, but then when the [action cuts immediately] to Mexico they’d realize [it was a flash-forward]. But we didn’t want to do any more of the math for them.”
So mark April 29 down on those calendars because I can’t wait to see Ruth, her goat urn, and her shotgun, take on an entire drug cartel.
