Running from 2005 to 2013, the American version of The Office became immensely popular during its runtime and remains highly viewed long after its eventual close. Although the show eventually left Netflix last year, it still retains a high viewership and remains well-loved. And fans still get a thrill from seeing some of the iconic places from the show in real life. So, where can you go to be a part of the team?

Where ‘The Office’ was filmed

The fictional paper company within the show, Dunder Mifflin, is located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. But where was the show actually filmed? Is the real-life office actually located in Scranton?

Surprisingly, most of the show was actually filmed in Los Angeles. When the show was picked up for its second season, the office building used for every season thereafter was Central Valley Studios, a studio building located in Panorama City, California. There are many miscellaneous locations for different scenes thereafter that are also dotted around California, such as two fake Chilli’s restaurants, a daycare, a quaint cottage house, and a mall among many others. The vast majority of the show, however, was filmed at Central Valley Studios in California.

The Office’s various filming locations can be visited and photographed, but being that most of them are in California, hardcore fans will likely have to plan their trips out well in advance. Generally speaking, the show’s film locations are all set in stone, so there thankfully isn’t much doubt about where to go. But it should come as no surprise that there likely won’t be a lot of paper at the studios—after all, The Office stopped filming in 2015, but the memories continue to live on.
