A Google Rumor Has Fans Wondering If Hugh Jackman Will Show Up in Avengers: Endgame

Wolverine vs. Thanos is a fight we'd like to see.

Hugh Jackman has always said that 2017’s Logan would be his final outing as Wolverine, having played the character for nearly two decades. But now, a glitch in Google has fans wondering if Jackman will reprise his iconic role in Avengers: Endgame. Some folks on Twitter have discovered that typing “famous Hugh Jackman movies” into Google yields Endgame as a result.

The rumor is likely just that, as Google has mistakenly connected actors to the wrong movies before. And of course, Endgame was filmed before the Disney-Fox merger, meaning that Marvel wouldn’t have had access to any of the X-Men properties. But let’s imagine for second, what it would be like if Wolverine joined the Avengers in the upcoming film.

If Wolverine got snapped, would his body regenerate fast enough to counter-effect the dissolve? Are his claws sharp enough to slice off Thanos’s gauntlet hand? Also, how long would it take for him to pick a fight with the Hulk? And who would win?

While I highly doubt we’ll be seeing Jackman in Endgame, it makes sense why fans would want him back. The actor has become synonymous with Logan/Wolverine, with last year’s performance in Logan marking one of his best performances ever. Jackman has always been terrific in the role, but he has been forced to muddle through some truly terrible Wolverine movies (X-Men: Origins, anyone?). Perhaps fans are so excited about the prospect of a Jackman revival because they want to see him in a film worthy of his talents.

Then there’s the unlikely option that Jackman cameos in Endgame … as a different character. It wouldn’t be the first time that a Fox Marvel actor crosses over to the MCU: both Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan played Johnny Storm/Human Torch in their respective Fantastic Four movies before going on to play Captain America and Killmonger, respectively. However, that’s unlikely, given his long stretch as Wolverine and his close connection to the character. In fact, it may be downright confusing to see a non-Logan Hugh Jackman show up.

Besides, we all know that if Jackman ever picks up his adamantium claws again, it would be for his BFF Ryan Reynolds in a Deadpool movie. Fingers crossed.
