If Wonder Woman 2 Should Happen, Gal Gadot Wants a Female Love Interest. Her Pick? Halle Berry

Recommended Videos

Wonder Woman won’t be out until next year, and although the latest trailer makes it look good enough to warrant a sequel, we really can’t know for sure whether Wonder Woman 2 will be a thing. But we do know that DC Comics has confirmed that Wonder Woman is attracted to people across the gender spectrum, and we also know that Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot has said she’s in full support of that aspect of the canon.

Unfortunately, Gadot admitted, that aspect would not appear in the first Wonder Woman movie, saying: “it never came to the table,” at least not in the development of this upcoming film. However, in a new interview from this week, Gadot has said she would like to see Wonder Woman 2 explore that possibility.

The interview is not in English, but thanks to a translation via Batman-News, we know what Gal Gadot said in response when an interviewer asked her about the prospect of Wonder Woman getting a female love interest in the next movie, and if so, who it could be: “I saw her the other day: Halle Berry. She’s so beautiful. Wow! She’s gorgeous! So, yeah, I could do it with her.”

It’s not at all clear from this translation whether this is an actual plan that Gal Gadot wants to make happen in the sequel, or if she and Halle Berry actually discussed this when they saw each other “the other day,” or what. However, it’s important to note that in the context of the interview, this isn’t presented as a joke on Gadot’s part. Although the interviewer (and the video editor who cut together this segment) doesn’t seem to be taking the topic very seriously, Gal Gadot answers the question in seriousness:

In any case, the two women seem to know each other and, presumably, have respect for one another’s acting prowess, and perhaps would have some good chemistry on-screen if it ever came to that.

I’m sure that Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry would appreciate another shot at doing a superhero movie. Ryan Reynolds has certainly gotten multiple chances at that, so I’m not opposed to seeing Halle Berry on Themyscira in the future.
