What Is Mulder and Scully’s “Situation?”
Ooooer.
The X-Files revival is set to premiere on January 24th, 2016, and already we’re hearing some rumbles about Mulder and Scully’s romantic status. Spoilers incoming! Avert your eyes now, lest you be spoiled!
While discussing the revival with The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Carter explained
We play with that relationship. We put some of the tension back in that was relieved by them being together. It added to the storytelling opportunities. It’s something that I came up with; I had been thinking about it. There was always talk of [breaking them up] if we did another movie.
Duchovny played innocent at last weekend’s Pittsburgh World Comic-Con when asked about the Sam and Diane of aliens:
In the beginning of these six episodes, we seem to be estranged. I don’t know where it’s going. I really don’t know. I’m trying to think [what was] the end of the sixth episode … It’s yet to be determined.
