Zachary Quinto to Guest Star on FX’s American Horror Story
hold on to your butts
Well, this sounds like a jolly good time: Zachary Quinto, best known as Spock in J.J. Abrams‘ Star Trek movie and for his villainous role in NBC‘s Heroes, will join the cast of FX‘s American Horror Story for a guest-starring arc. This will be Quinto’s first return to television, and it will be in a show that’s getting some very good buzz this season. His character will be introduced in a just-announced two-parter that will air on October 26 and conclude on Halloween. Come inside for all the spooky details …
We’ve done a little bit on American Horror Story, and as a TV series with a real horror theme, it’s certainly piqued our interest. To say nothing of the fact that it’s being made by the guys behind Glee, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. However, let’s remember that they are also responsible for Nip/Tuck, which made Glee look like the huge departure from the norm for them, making American Horror Story seem like a trip back to what they know best: a psychosexual thriller.
The show is focused on a troubled couple, Ben and Vivien (played by Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton, late of Friday Night Lights), who move into a house that seems to know all their deepest fears. Zachary Quinto will be playing Chad, “the gay former owner of the house” who becomes friendly with Vivien and probably has a bit more background on this scary-ass house. He is set to appear in at least four episodes, including the two-part Halloween event. Question is, will he return to his villainous roots, or will he be a good guy? Anything is possibly in a horror-themed show, so that should give his character an extra layer of intrigue.
American Horror Story will premiere on FX on Wednesday, October 5 at 10:00 PM. Here is the newest teaser trailer:
