21 Jump Street is about to have a major pube situation.

According to Tracking Board, Sony is developing a female-led spin-off of the Channing Tatum/Jonah Hill franchise, and has hired Broad City writers Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs to write the script. In addition to their writing duties, Aniello has also directed several episodes of the Comedy Central show and Downs makes frequent appearances as Abbi’s boss, Trey:

The news obviously marks an interesting trend for Sony following the announcement of Paul Feig’s female-led Ghostbusters reboot, and although a spin-off of an adaptation of a TV series seems a little less creative than Downs and Aniello’s typical fare, it’s exciting to see that a major studio like Sony is making a habit of banking on funny ladies. (Time to batten down the hatches for a whiny fanboy backlash and an ALL DUDE JUMP STREET MAN MEAT NO GIRLS ALLOWED tie-in film, I guess.)

In the meantime, what funny ladies would you guys like to see star in a 21 Jump Street spin-off? Aside from the obvious, of course.
