Taco Bell has been experimenting quite a bit lately, from their attempt at offering a breakfast menu, to the Doritos Locos tacos you’ve probably seen a commercial for by now. Spotted by Mike Elgan, it would seem Taco Bell franchises in southern California are experimenting with a new Mountain Dew beverage, Mountain Dew A.M.. It’s Mountain Dew mixed with orange juice.
Taco Bell representative Rob Poetsch told Fox News in an email that the fast food chain is indeed testing out the drink, and if proven to be popular, will be rolled out to the Taco Bells around the country that serve breakfast.
“Our customers love Mountain Dew and it’s one of our most popular beverages, so we are testing Mtn Dew AM in Fresno and Southern California as the latest innovation to our FirstMeal Menu. We’re pleased with the initial reaction from our customers, and if it does well, we’ll roll it out to all our restaurants that serve breakfast.”
Never fear, Mountain Dew A.M. appears on that new breakfast menu, so don’t worry about a wasted opportunity for product pairing. Reportedly, the drink already has a couple nicknames: The “Dewdriver,” for the obvious Screwdriver relation, and “Morning Dew,” a much more clever name than “Mountain Dew A.M.,” which seems a bit lazy now that we’ve witnessed the elegance of “Morning Dew.”
