You might recognize him from the Harry Potter films, but Ian Hart will be appearing in a different corner of the nerdoverse come September, when he joins Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Who did he play before? Who is he playing now? Why all of these questions? Go under the cut to find out more!
The British actor (who was also on Bates Motel) will be taking on the recurring role of a scientist in the show, but we haven’t gotten much more information beyond that: no name, no first appearance, no character traits. Hart played Professor Quirrell in the first Harry Potter movie, so it would be a terrible joke to say that they’re keeping the specifics of his character “under wraps.” It would be terrible, but we just said it. You’re welcome.
The general lack of details is enough to make anyone suspicious. We are talking about a Whedon show, after all— there’s bound to be lots of surprises up his sleeve, and the less we know the more he’s got. Will this scientist have multiple personalities, perhaps? An evil man coming out of the back of his head?
Looks like we’ll have to wait until September 24th to find out.
